Merry Christmas!

Well, another Christmas has come and gone. We had a great one. Marleigh is at such a fun age for Christmas. She was so excited to see what santa had brought to her. She got all kinds of toys, clothes, and of course undergarmets. She also got a cupcake maker, which we just had to make two cupcakes as soon as our traditional sausage-gravy christmas breakfast was over. All while I was trying to fix my sweet potato casserole for our family Christmas in Princeton, while her daddy took a midmorning nap. Must I say-those cupcakes are horrible, but she could care less. The first one she gave to her daddy-he pretended to like it. THe second one was for her, but we put a candle in it and sang "Happy Birthday, Jesus". It was precious. Christmas eve was spent at Bengi's moms house, then my mom came over to spend the night. The next morning we did the presents ate breakfast and went to Princeton to visit and eat with my dad and the rest of the Tandy gang. On the way over, we decided to go to Louisville that night to see Bengi's dad. After we left Princeton, we went to Bengi's mom house to do the present thing. We racked up. We came back home to pack, house was left a mess from the morning and on we went at 6:00 pm to Louisville. We got there around 11:00pm their time. It was a very long day, but a fun filled joyous day.
We had a blast in Louisville. Marleigh's favorite thing was going bowling. Here is a video, absolutley precious:

Prayer Concerns: My uncle and his family, our economy, our new President

Praises: Everyone had safe travels over Christmas weekend, Jesus' birth, Milly kicking constantly, my bathroom getting fixed: Thank you, honey! :-)

Recent and Miscellaneous Pics

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I am still here. So sorry that it has taken me soooo long to post. Life has been pretty busy. We have gone Christmas shopping every weekend-I think that I am finished. Yee-Haw!!! We have gone to Opryland Hotel, and seen the Rockets. ( I highly recommend it! Marleigh was amazed and loved it!) We have gone to Pattie's 1880 Settlement to see Santa, which was a really neat experience. We have been out of school for the past 2 days due to about 1/2 inch of sleet/ice. Nice break, but this is messing up my maternity leave. I am feeling great, just fat-all nose and cheeks. I wish I was a lucky one that only my lips swelled at least I would look like Angelina Jo-Lee Pitt (I know I spelled her name wrong, sorry). But no I have to look like I have 2 noses on my face and balloons for cheeks.
I go to the doctor tomorrow morning for a check up. Milly is moving constantly. It is the most amazing feeling ever. It is a feeling that no one can describe. Bengi felt her move for the first time yesterday morning. It was quite special, but a man still can't appreciate that little flutter. Although, he did think it was pretty cool. Well, I'm pretty worn out and ready for bed. I will try not to wait so long until I write next time. Until next time-Live, Laugh, Love

We are having ...

(You will need to mute the music at the bottom of the page to hear this video!)

The doctor said that everything looked great. A healthy baby that moved practically the whole time she was on the screen. She yawned and had the hiccups. It was so precious. She weighs 12 oz. They also moved my due date up to the 8th of April. So this week, I am officially half way there. Marleigh was ecstatic. She was so glad she wouldn't have to trade in her Barbie walkie-talkies. (As you hear in the video!) Well, all is well here! We are truly blessed. Hope you have a great week!

Angels Rejoicing!!!

Today, the angels are rejoicing in heaven. I was sitting at the kitchen table when we had a knock at the door. Bengi said that Corky, Malic's dad, wanted to talk to me. If you remember a post back in June about Marleigh and Malic going to Bible School, well that is who I am talking about. Anyways, he, with tears in the corner of his eyes, came around the corner and said that Malic got saved this morning. He had gone to church with his aunt and realized that he didn't want to live without Jesus anymore. This was so exciting that it brought tears to my eyes. Glory to God! Anyways, I just wanted to share the great news that I had today. God does move and the angels are singing. Just pray now that this precious new christian can make a difference in his father's life. Keep Malic in your prayers!

On another note, we go to the doctor's office for our ultrasound to find out what the baby is. We are so anxious to find out. We can't wait! Well, Tuesday night check back to hear the good news.

Until next time-Live, Laugh, Love

Halloween Costume(s)

Marleigh, Halley, Hunter, and Hayden ready for the candy!

Marleigh's 2nd costume of the night!

Posing for the camera! What a ham!

1st costume of the night! I put this picture in here so all of you can see my baby bump!

Marleigh and Ganny!

1st costume!

This Halloween, Marleigh got to wear 2 costumes. It all started as her being snow white. She wore her costume to preschool for her party and took it off after. When I came to pick her up, we went to the bathroom to get her snow white costume on. When I took it out of the bag, I saw the rip around the waist, but I wasn't prepared for the eye-sore. When she put it on and turned around to get her shoes on, there was a huge split down the back of the skirt that was wide open and showed her panties when she walked. I asked her teacher for a stapler and stapled the back so that we could go to Ganny's and Auntie Marda's.

By the time, we got to Auntie Marda's after going to Ganny's the staples had all split again. So she had to walk into the nursing home exposing her back side. She did give the nurses a big laugh, though.

After we got home, we changed her into an outfit she had already had. IT turned out perfect. We went downtown for the trick or treating. Marleigh had a great time!

Humbled by a 4-year old!

Hey, there! Sorry it's taken so long for me to post. Stephanie W. told me I better get with it, so here i am. Yesterday was crazy. I had a normal day at school, parent-teacher conferences until 5pm, picked up Marleigh from my moms, ran home to change and thats when my girl brought me to my knees.

Malic, our next door neighbor that is in 4th grade, has been going with us to church on Wednesday nights. Recently, he and his dad have moved a couple of streets over. Marleigh didn't know at the time, ran up to his door to get him so we could go to church. Bengi told her that he moved. She said with a frown, "Who is going to go to church with me?" She stood there for a moment thinking. She took off running in the front yard to our other neighbor's house where Rashaan lives with his Granny. She knocked and knocked. When no one answered, she walked slowly to me and said, "I don't have any friends to take with me?" She wouldn't stop until she made Bengi call Malic's dad to see if he could come with us.

This humbled me so much. If I/we as Christians would be more like this precious child, there would be a lot more saved people out there. It is our duty as Christians to not only witness, walk the walk and talk the talk, but to invite others to church.

Even adults can learn lessons or be reminded of what is really important from a 4-year old.

Have a great weekend!

4 Weeks Until We Find Out!

I had a doctor's appointment today. Marleigh went with me. I am trying to take with me to every visit, (unless there is an exam), so that she feels apart of the whole process. We heard the heartbeat today for the first time. Oh, what an awesome sound that was-a reassurance, peace of mind, a blessing. The heart monitor registered 158 heartbeats per minute. If I can recall, Marleigh had anywhere from 160-168 a minute. He said he guesses that it's another girl. But he said he was "only guessing." We would like to have a boy, but if a healthy girl it is-that will be fine, too.

We go November 18th at 2:30 to find out what sex the baby is. I will be counting down the days. It is so exciting. If it wasn't so convinent to find out the sex for preparation purposes, I would like to wait to find out. Life needs more exciting surprises. But I don't think I could hold out, though.

Well, all is well here. We had fall break last week. It was great times-sleeping in, visiting cousins, and did I mention sleeping in. I didn't get half of what I wanted to get done, but oh well. House work will not grow legs and walk away-I wish it would.:-)

Hope everyone has a great week! Until next time - Live, Laugh, Love

Home of the Ham Festival!

What's the Ham Festival if you can't ride a pig?
Marleigh and the Llama
Daddy and Marleigh on the $10 train ride.
Marleigh and Justin Reynolds(family friend) on a camel ride.
Marleigh wore this slide out this weekend. She went down it a hundred times!
Last year, she was scared of it! We are making progress!

This past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was spent at our hometown annual Ham Festival. It started Friday morning when Mamaw took Marleigh while I was at school and she won the 4 year old girl tractor pull. She won a ribbon and $3, which she later spent on a fish pond game to win the all-famous horn, that some how got lost before we made it home. I don't know what happened to it. :-) She rode the rides and had a great time with her cousins Hunter, Jay, and Hayden. Then, Friday night Bengi and I took her back to the carnival. Plus, I had been thinking about a chicken gyro all day, so I had to get my fix.
Saturday, we went back with my mom and her dear friend, Retha. We ate, people watched, Marleigh rode more rides, and ate some more. I figured I'm pregnant-this is one weekend no holds bar. This event only comes once a year and I was going to eat like it wasn't coming back for 5 years.
Yes-Sunday, we went back to eat, ride more rides and watch the parade. My husband grew up with this festival and he has gotten tired of it, but I can't seem to get enough. I love the Ham Festival. The food is out of this world. Sorry, I keep talking about food. But, man, it was awesome.
This week we are on fall break. Our plans consist of resting, cleaning and resting some more. I hope to be able to take Marleigh to Chuckie Cheese. Also, we hope to go spend time with family and friends. (Beware-Rhea Anne and Angie-we are coming over) :-)
Hope everyone has a great week. God Bless!

Back in the Saddle Again!

Daddy, Marleigh on Sugar and Papaw

Yes-Sugar, I still Love You!

Today, was a milestone for Marleigh and her pony, Sugar. Two summers ago, Marleigh and her cousin were riding him when he bucked and they fell off. Emmi (cousin) bit her lip and Marleigh broke the two bones in her lower left arm. It was a very scary day. From that point on, she has not wanted anything to do with her pony. But today she wanted to ride him. She was very nervous at first-screaming, almost crying, but we told her that cowgirls don't whine, so she stopped for a second. She got more comfortable after about 5 minutes. Marleigh felt better when she was leading him around the yard. Anyways, way to go cowgirl! Way to get back on teh saddle again! We were very proud of you! Live, Laugh, Love - Tara

Happy 50th Birthday, Nana!

Hey, there! I am crossing my fingers that my internet keeps up while i post this. Sorry-Nana, Pops, and Uncle Bones it has taken so long to post these pics. I have had a time with my connection. Anyways, here are some pics of last weekend in Louisville. Mary, my mother-in-law, had a surprise party on Sunday for her 50th birthday. I took her out shopping for about 2 hours while the men and Marleigh got things ready at the house. I don't think she knew until we were driving down the street and saw all of the cars and the tents in the front yard with the black balloons on them. It was pretty cool. As always, we had a great time. Bengi had been out of town the whole week before and he had his boss drop him of at a nearby McDonalds. It was so good to him home. Saturday, we went shopping and when we got back, Bengi took Marleigh fishing. Of course they didn't caught anything but I was the bonding that counted. Sunday, we had her party. We had a great time visiting with Pops, Nana, and Uncle Bones. We also got to see other family members and friends. Thank you guys for a great weekend. Sorry it took so long for me to post these pictures. Computers are only good when they are working.

Technical Issues, Crazy Commodes, and Lazy Dog

Hey there! I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to post anything. I was on the phone with AT&T from 7:25-10:40 last night about my Internet service. After we got home from Louisville Sunday night, I tried to post some pics from our awesome trip to Nana, Pops, and Uncle Bones house. My internet would not let me connect. So after hours on the phone with these people, my ear is numb, Marleigh puts too much toliet paper in the commode and it overflows, Bengi is saying some choice words in the back of the house, and my dog is happily laying sound asleep by me on the couch-My problem with my computer is still not fixed. So until i get it repair, I am posting during my planning period at school. Pics might be on hold for a few.

All is good, otherwise!

Love At First Sight!

Yesterday was our doctor's appointment. I had my first sonosite (ultrasound) with Baby Reynolds' #2. He/She got her first photograph. Marleigh went with me. I wish I would have gotten her reaction on tape because it was priceless. When she saw the baby on the screen, her face lite up. Then, she sort of didn't realize what was going on. She just analyzed the monitor but smiled when she saw the baby moving everywhere. I barely got to see the baby because my doctor was so into showing Marleigh her baby sister or brother. I really appreciated my doctor making Marleigh part of the awesome experience. We only were given one photograph from the sonosite, so I had the woman in the office make a copy of it for Marleigh to take to school to show her friends and teachers. She couldn't wait this morning to take the pic in to school with her. It was precious! When I saw that precious sight on the screen, it put all of my fears to rest. Thank goodness for modern technology. I still pray for the weeks and months to come that the baby grows and is healthy!
Doc. said everything looked great. I go back on October 21st. Four weeks from that appointment, we will have our 2nd ultrasound to find our what the baby will be-boy or girl! My students at school voted and think I am having a girl. We will soon see.
He changed my due date from the 17th of April to the 13th, but he said he wouldn't be surprised if I deliver anytime from March 31st until my due date. Only time will tell.
Anyways, Marleigh's cold is slowly going away. I got some support hose-yes, I know, all I need now is polyester pants and SAS shoes. But my legs feel so much better, so whatever it takes-I'm doing it! Thank goodness, it's getting cooler. My mom went back to the doctor again today, she was put on another antibiotic and has to go get a shot in the morning. Hopefully, that will take care of it.
Thank you for all of your prayers-marleigh's cold, my legs, my mom, and my anxiety of the baby being healthy. I have truly felt them and greatly appreciate them.
I wanted to give a shout out to 2 new friends that left comments on my last post-Beth Greene, friend and Charles Frank, cousin. Thank you guys for checking my blog out. It means a lot knowing that people are reading about Marleigh and the new baby.

Common Cold, Painful Veins, and a Doctor's Appointment This Tuesday!

Hey, there! Hope all is well! This past week has been the same ole' routine. Marleigh has come up with a cold and is nonstop snotting. It doesn't normally bother me, but when you are pregnant the last thing you want to do is wipe mucus away.

I have felt great this week-no sickness. However, the veins in the backs of my legs are in horrible pain everytime I stand up. It feels like there is a rush of water or a tidal wave going through my veins. They hurt so bad. I am going to talk to the dr. on Tuesday about it, but I know what he will say-"Support Hose". GROSS! The same thing ended up happening with my pregnancy with Marleigh, but the whole vein thing didn't start until I was 7 months along. With this pregnancy, I am only 11 weeks and my legs are already very painful. But if this is the only thing that goes wrong, we are blessed.

We have a doctor's appointment this Tuesday. I have my first sonosite. This is like an ultra sound. No, we won't be able to see the sex of the baby, but we will be able to see if everything is growing and developing right. This is very exciting, but very scary, as well. When I was pregnant with Marleigh, I never thought about critical days when she was developing inside me. A healthy child is absolutely a miracle from God above. Please pray that this baby is healthy.

Also, please pray for my mother. Last week, she had a fever from Tuesday to Saturday. Then, she felt better. Yesterday, she started running a fever again. Keep her in your prayers.

Stayed tuned for ultrasound pics from tuesday's appointment. Until next time-Live, Laugh, Love

Ike Hits Home!

This is the back of our house. You can see we got very lucky. (Not lucky just saved by God)
Oops! Sorry I didn't realize that this was the same pic!
A close up!
Here is the roof damage, plus a lot of shingles were blown off!
The tree fell on our air conditioning unit and dented the frame. From what we can tell, the frame was the only thing hurt. Hopefully!

This morning, we woke up to some crazy winds. It was then when we realized that the winds were from "Ike" the Houston hurricane. My husband got a call that his brothers roof had some significant damage to it, so he went to help tarp it. When he returned, he told Marleigh and Me to get changed, that we were going somewhere that wasn't surrounded by trees. He shared that our neighbor's tree in their front yard had fallen on two of their cars and we weren't taking any chances. We went outside to talk to them about their damage, and my mother-in-law had just picked up Marleigh to take to her house. I ran inside to get my camera so I could share these amazing sites on my blog and went outside again, when all of a sudden, I heard this cracking and weird noise. I looked over the house and that's when I noticed a tree falling on our own house. It was crazy. I have to say the pics look bad and it is bad, but we are so lucky that the damage wasn't worse. If the tree wouldn't have caught the branches from another tree beside it on the way down, we could have had tree branches in our living room. We were so blessed and looked after by the hand of God.

I could not imagine how powerful a hurricane could be. We had 50-60 mph straight line winds, could you imagine 130 mph winds. The winds today were quite amazing. Nature is a powerful thing. I pray for all of the families in Galveston, Houston and every county that has felt this powerful storm. I pray that God keeps you safe and that the rebuilding is speedy, but brings Glory to God.

Until next time-Live, Laugh, Love

Friendship That Never Fades!

My husband was out of town for a softball tournament, so I called up my best friend to see if see wanted to get together with our children. We went to Godfather's pizza and then went back to her house so the kids could play longer. Ashley and I have been friends forever. It all started at Millbrooke Elementary School. Then our friendship grew and took us through Christian County Middle and High. I went to Community College and one year of Murray, which I roomed with another high school friend in a dorm. Ashley and I ended up getting an apartment together for the next two years of college. We got married one month apart from each other and then lived only .9 miles apart on the same road. My first child and her second child are only 10 weeks apart. So you see, we liked to do everything insinc.

Our friendship is amazing. We don't talk on a daily basis or go shopping every weekend together. However, our friendship is so real and rare that when we do get together, it is like no time had pasted. Our friendship has always been true, and I am so thankful for that. They say that you are lucky if you have "1" true friend in a life time. She is that special friend.

Our children love playing together. Last night, they were playing hide-n-go-seek-it was absolutely hilarious! To the Humpries-Thank you for a great night of fun! We enjoyed every minute.

Kinley and Marleigh cheesing before supper!

Marleigh and Landen playing in Godfather's game room.

Marleigh, Kinley and Landen having a ball together. Marleigh was in toy heaven.

Kinley and Landen-Thank you for playing with Marleigh and sharing your toys. She had a fun time. She is already asking when is she going to get to play with you two again!
Phillip-Next time your not invited unless I get to pay for supper! :-)
Ashley-Thank you for being such an awesome friend. I treasure all of the memories that we have shared and the memories to come. Thank you for always being there for me! Love you!

New Look!

Thanks to my cousin, Rhea, I have a new blog look. She found this website that is located at the top left hand corner of my blog. There are tons of free blog templates to choose from. Plus, it is so easy to do. Go ahead, take a look-but please pick your own-Don't take mine! Just kidding, have at it; it is too much fun!!

I went to the doctor today. All they did is draw some more blood-to check my HGC levels. Dr. Hart plans on doing a sono-site (a type of ultrasound) on September 23rd.

Also, I got Marleigh's urine culture results back today. There was no bacteria present. Praise the Lord! This is great news! This means that we will not have to go to a urologist.

The past two weeks have been great, except I have been hugging the porcelain goddess. It all of a sudden will just hit me. This is not just morning sickness, either. It hits at any time of day! I am so thankful that I have a tutor this year in my classroom. I have already had to run out on her three times like a race horse to the bathroom with my hand covering my mouth. (Sorry for the visual) Well, I will hopefully post some pics soon!

Audrey Caroline

Today, at the ball park, I was told about this blog, Audrey Caroline. When I got home, I immediately logged on to my computer and typed in the web address. I didn't know what to expect only what my friend, Shell, had shared. As I started to read, I couldn't stop. This blog is about a family and their struggles through a wife's pregnancy while finding out on her 20 week ultrasound that there were fatal complications. I challenge you to log on to this blog and read. This family is amazing and has amazing faith in our Lord. Their tragedy has passed, but their mourning is far from over. Please keep this family in your prayers. This mother has blessed me and I know she will bless you as you read. I always fill like the world is hitting heavy on me, but this blog truely put that into perspective. To this family in Nashville, my heart and prayers go out to your family. May God continue to comfort you and bless you!

Reynolds' Catch Up and Baby Bump (Already, What!)

School is in full session. Marleigh asks every morning if "today is her last day of school?" I think she is still in summer mode. I wish we were. We were getting a tick off of our dog (turned out that it was his nipple we were trying to remove) and she kept consoling him. I asked her if she was going to be a veterinarian when she grows up and she replied, "No! I am going to be a rock star!" I said lovely! I hope she keeps more clothes on than the rock stars of today.
A lot of new "news" since my last post. I am 6 weeks pregnant. Yes, I know! Take a look at the pic below. I am already showing. What is up with that? I have already gained 3 pounds and have constant cravings of garlic texas toast, crescents, and biscuits. Which it funny due to the fact that I am not a bread eater. Question for all of the mother's of two or more: Did you start to show earlier with your second? I hope the answer is "yes"! When I was pregnant with Marleigh, I didn't really start to show until I was 31/2 months pregnant. I didn't have to start wearing maternity clothes until then. This pregnancy is going to be totally different based on my first 6 weeks. Marleigh is so excited! She has told everyone that "mommy has a baby in her belly!" She is going to be such a great big sister! She is so maternal, this baby is so lucky to have her. It is already so loved! She hopes it is a girl, so they can get"Barbie walkie-talkies" to talk to each other in the mornings. I asked her what if it is a boy-she said we will have to take them back and get "Spider man walkie-talkies". Well, that is all for now! I have forgotten how tired your are when you are pregnant. I have to have a nap or would like to take one daily! Keep us in your prayers! Until next time-live, laugh, love!

Weekend Full of Family Fun

Caleb, Tyler, Rachel and Marleigh at Popaw's birthday party.

Marleigh, Emmi, and Jacey enjoying the farm!

This weekend has been filled with caughting up with family. Rodney's daughter, Carla, came in with her 3 year old, Jacey. Marleigh spent the day with them on Friday while I was at school. They swam, picked tomatoes from the garden, and played outside. Jacey loves to come to the farm. She gets so excited. Marleigh loves to go to the farm regardless, but she loves it more when there is someone her size to play with. They had a blast!

Saturday, Marleigh went shopping with her ganny and Rachel. Kelly's daughter, Kim and her family came in for his birthday from Chicago. Also, Todd (Kelly's son) came in from Richmond with his wife and son, Tyler. Kelly turned 65 August 8th. We celebrated by eating, eating, and laughing about the strangest things. We had a great weekend! Have a blessed week-live laugh, love

Our Day of School!

Marleigh was so excited to go back to school. She has one more year of preschool, then she is off to Kindergarden. Wow! It just seems like yesterday, she was crawling. Now, she is acting like she is 14. I have to tell a funny story. Her sunday school teacher told me yesterday that she was in the middle of her lesson, when all of a sudden this little girl raised her hand (Marleigh). Marleigh asked her "Can you hurry up with your story? I left my baby in the car and she is getting hot!" I don't know where in the world she comes up with all of this at. She is so funny.
This is Marleigh's teacher Mrs. Croft at her school. I am so thankful that she loves to go there. I absolutely love it, as well. She has learned so much. She can tell you the 1st and the 16th president, what an author and an illustrator are. It is amazing what they have taught her. My hat goes off to 1st Baptist Preschool. We love you guys!

Introducing ... Mrs. Reynolds 2008-2009 class. Right now, I have 24 students. They are absolutely precious. They are so sweet. Please pray for me that I will meet each need of my students. Also, that I will love each and every student that I come in contact with. I hope that I make each one feel special everytime they are in my classroom. Hope everyone has a great week! BLESSED-live, laugh, love Tara Reynolds

Happy 91st Birthday, Auntie Marda!

Today was very special day for someone in our family. This is my great aunt-Auntie Marda. Today is her 91st birthday. She used to live in Arizona during the winters and Michigan during the summers. She is a retired school teacher. Auntie Marda moved here to Hopkinsville after some health complications and just plain old age to be closer to us. She is the Godliest woman I know, besides my mother. She has never been married. She always said that she only had room in her life for one man and that was "God". Wow! How awesome! She is a real role model to me and for my life. Anyways, Happy Birthday Auntie Marda! We love you very much!
